Sid is an almost four year old American Brittany. He is a bird dog by nature, but I don’t hunt him. Hunting is in his blood, he comes from a strong hunting line and is at home in the woods or any time he can be off leash. Brittany’s have a ton of energy and I try to get him out in the woods for a least two miles everyday.

LANDFORMS
Last week I was in Las Vegas for work. I spent a lot of time before the trip figuring out which cameras and lenses I was going to bring. Eventually, I settled on one camera and two lenses. I knew there wasn’t going to be much time to shoot, but I’m always hopeful I’ll have time to slip away and explore.

Traveled to Las Vegas last week for work. Shot this early one morning from my hotel room in the Palazzo. I was not able to shoot as much as I had hoped, work took up all my time. I did get some good shots of the show I helped design and might post them later this week.
JUICING
On my way to Las Vegas for a week for work. I found this woman recharging her batteries while waiting for her flight. I couldn’t resist taking the shot. The contrast of the white cable wrapped around her arm gave the impression she was charging more than her phone.

Arch street, shot is looking west from the walkway above the street connecting the Reading Terminal Market to the Philadelphia Convention Center.
LAST NIGHT
This shot was of course not taken “Last Night” as the title would suggest. In fact, it was taken in the summer of 2019, on my cell phone and edited with an app on my phone called Snapseed.
It’s funny how you can forget about photographs not long after you take them, even if they are pretty good. Because I didn’t shoot this image with a fancy camera and import it into my Lightroom catalog for proper editing and backup, I completely forgot about it.

Quick photoshoot with Sid. He’s pretty good in front of the camera as long as you can get him to sit still for one or two seconds. Scroll down to see a few more from the session.

Wildwood is usually a pretty busy place in the summer. But in the off-season, it’s quite with little going on. The traffic lights all flash yellow and most of the stores are still closed for the winter. There were only a few places open on the boardwalk and most of the people on the beach were only there to walk their dogs.

One of my favorite times to be in the woods is after a storm. The dampness and the fog create a surreal atmosphere that surrounds you in a way that is both familiar and peaceful, yet somehow unsettling. Near the end of Autumn, just before the weather turns cold permanently as winter sets in, there is a calm that only lasts a day or two.
